[Network Error]

Please make sure you are running a current version which is 2.1

You can see it in the “About...”. If you do not have a toolbar at the bottom, you are running version 1.0.x which is no longer supported. Global.AQ 2.0 lite is also no longer supported. Global.AQ 2.0 standard/pro are still supported but you can’t sign up with them anymore or purchase additional credits. If you need more credits, simply upgrade.



[“..not compatible with ‘MobileSubstrate’ ”]

If Global.AQ complains that it is not compatible with MobileSubstrate then you have to deinstall Mobile Substrate. This was 95% of the support cases we had in the past. Mobile Substrate allows you to customize all kinds of system calls which sounds nice but it also means applications which require and expect certain functionalities out of the blue don’t work anymore. In our case, getting the regional settings from the system often failed which resulted in us being blamed while MobileSubstrate was really at fault (or the tools who use it to customize things). MobileSubstrate is in any case not part of any standard iPhone and jailbroken iPhones are not officially supported neither by Apple or by us. We have wasted already a fair amount of work to make it work in most cases but with MobileSubstrate it went way too far so we had to block it to free up our support for legitimate paying users of Global.AQ.


If you don’t know how to uninstall MobileSubstrate via Cydia/Rock/Installer, then simply restore your iPhone with iTunes.


[Delivery Issues: The SMS is sent but never arrives]

If you can send an SMS but it doesn’t arrive, look at the delivery report.

Look at the top right corner of the sent SMS:

    Message delivered

    Message failed

●    Message buffered

If it shows delivered, the message has hit the destination phone.

If it shows failed, it will show a reason.

If it shows buffered, it means the destination phone is switched off.

If you feel something's wrong, contact support@global.aq and indicate the Q00... number (the so called Message-ID)



[“Out of credit”]

Global.AQ Pro comes with 500 SMS credits included, Global.AQ Standard with 50. If you get out of credit error you have send more than 500 or 50 credits worth of SMS. You can purchase more through the AppStore by pressing “Store” inside the app.


[Verification E-Mail]

If you have not received your verification e-mail, please check your spam-folder. If you still can not find it, you might have not entered it correctly. Delete the application and reinstall it so you can sign up again. Note: please avoid hotmail or yahoo e-mail addresses. They often filter away by mistake verification e-mails.


[Other Issues]

If something is totally screwed up, try deleting the application completely on the iPhone and in iTunes. Then reinstall it again directly on the phone from the AppStore.


[Crashes]

[What is the difference between STANDARD and PRO and LITE versions?]

The amount of credits included and the price. Standard comes with 50 credits in total while Pro includes 500 credits and Lite includes zero (you can only send SMS between Global.AQ users with it). New features will possibly arrive first in the Pro version before arriving in Standard or Lite.


[Can I receive SMS with Global.AQ]

Yes with Global.AQ you can receive SMS to your Global.AQ number from other Global.AQ users and from various GSM networks who have implemented routing to +88234.... Ask your GSM operator if they have coverage or simply try to send an SMS to your own number. If it doesn’t work, complain to them.


[If somebody replies to my SMS why don’t I get the answer]

If replying doesn’t work, then have this somebody complain to his operator so that he allows sending SMS to our number range (all numbers starting with +88234).


[Where can I find my country code?]

Wikipedia has an extensive list of all country codes: List_of_country_calling_codes


[How do I know if the SMS was delivered]

Look at the top right corner of the sent SMS:

    Message delivered

    Message failed

●    Message buffered



[Can I not type SMS in landscape mode]

Landscape is fully supported in current version 2.1. Global.AQ Pro 2.0.5 has some support for Landscape.


[How is it possible to send free SMS for us?]

The SMS are only free between Global.AQ users. Messages to other GSM networks cost credits. You can buy credits inside the app or while purchasing the app.


[Can I send SMS worldwide?]

Yes. We deliver to almost every network world wide including some CDMA and Pager networks. See as well on the coverage page. If it doesn’t deliver for you, let support@global.aq know. Include the message id of the message you sent. You find it above your text (Example: Q00812345).


[Where do I find the “+” sign on my keyboard]

Switch to the telephone number pad (by pressing the 123 key on the lower left). Press and hold the “0”-key for 2 seconds. After you release the key you should get a “+” sign.


[The SMS I’m sending never arrives, why?]

Our coverage is only almost 100% worldwide. If you run into problems, then please contact support@global.aq and provide us with the operators in question. We will try to continually expand our coverage. Please submit the message ID of the message (the Q008... number above the sent message).


[Where is the end user license agreement?]

The end user license agreement you have agreed to when signing up for the service is visible inside Global.AQ in the “About...” menu or here.
